The first day after leaving the garage there was a slight pinging sound upon changing motion from forwards to reverse (the sound is light and metallic)
So when engaging reverse, rolling slowly, and then touching the brake pedal, it feels as if the pad is moving or there is some kind of play somewhere with the pad/caliper?
I have been back to the garage 3 times to have this checked and they insist that the (caliper pins?) pins are touching on the lip of the brake discs, and that skimming the discs would stop this happening.
I am not happy with that as an answer, and don't really want to resort to skimming discs unless it's an absolute last resort.
Upon driving the car at around 30mph, if the brakes are applied sharply and then quickly let go of the pedal, it feels as if there is a big amount of play in the front end braking system (something has a lot of movement, but I am no mechanic so I am not sure what exactly it is)
I am going to order a set of brand new brake pads from Audi on eBay (brembo Audi re6 pads from Audi dealership selling on eBay) and then take it to another garage to have it inspected.
I saw an Audi stamp on the pads so I don't want to put any blame on the garage who supplied and fitted the pads. However I have a feeling maybe there is something different about them. I heard one of the technicians say they are pagid pads (which I've heard are <beep>, for all cars!?) so I am in the train of thought thinking that if the factory original are brembo, then I need to replace them with the same again.
On another note, the rear pads seem to have an FER part number on them. The technician suggested the rear brake pad part number refers to a PN used by FERRODO. Is this true? Do FERRODO make the factory brakes (or at least for the rear of a C7 RS6?)
Sorry to ramble on, I'm not sure which details are important to write so I've just written everything I can think of lol.
I don't feel safe driving the car on any long journeys so I have parke sit up for now until the next set of pads arrive and I can get it in to another garage for inspection. This will be the fourth time the wheels will be coming off the car in a weeks space of time
What a nightmare.
