Thanks, but more than I wanted to spend. Plus the carbon bits would start a new thing of needing to have everything else in carbon!

Not got the bill yet but it will be much cheaper. Materials will be less than wrapping and it was about 3 hrs labour

I've tried to get local body shops to paint mine on the C6 and they all say that due to the anodised finish used on the roof bars and window surrounds, no paint will stick to them for very long and are liable to chipping easily. Had the same verdict from a few places. I think the anodisation must be removed to do it properly, which requires removing the bits. I don't know if t believe them or not??

Theres a techique involved and a specialist paint. I did buy a spare set of roof bars for them to test the process and it worked.

Good to know - can you elaborate on the process so I can request it specifically when I speak to bodyshops? Thanks.

Sounds like a right chew on eh?.....having to take parts off and prep surface etc.

Why on earth people don't just get it wrapped for half the price, just as good finish, easier to do....and can be removed if you want?...no brainier.

I guess because i'ts something that people want to be permanent. It's not likely to be something you'll want to undo, so why pay more to get it wrapped and then have to pay again in a couple of years. Better to do it permanently once.

You paint them on the car and its ALOT better finish than wrapping, night and day difference The materials are less than £60 + 3hrs labour.

It should be common knowledge to a good bodyshop but they need to speak to Innotec for the paint and they will advise how to use there products.

Could you share the detail of the bodyshop that did yours so that I can get details of the exact procedure? Thanks!

For those that have had their bits painted - did you get them removed, or were they painted in situ? The bodyshops that will consider this insist that the parts have to be removed which triples the cost...

Mart.
