RE: My wheel mods

I think yes, but I am tempted to drive upto Dialynx (only 3 miles away) and get Keith to do the business with wheels, suspension and possibly brakes as well....

I've done suspension before and normally it has been a quite straightforward job but I am a bit concerned about doing the wheels, fancy 18's but having read your other post to me (thanks BTW) I'm not so sure it is that straightforward. I have contacted a few suppliers in the US about H&R kits. I'll keep you posted if you like?

Yes please Rob - H&R stuff - I'll reciprocate.

Wheels are easy to deal with.

RE: Wheels, are you saying that I can fit B6 Avus wheels straight on so long as I use 5mm spacers? What size tyres should I be looking at?? I was going to changes from SO3's to Eagle F1's anyway on my current 17' Avus wheels....they are getting to legal limit and therefore a good time to change both wheels and tyres.....would preferably have tyres as wide as possible...?

Rob,
The B6 18" wheels will go straight with the 5mm spacers - dont use the universal 3mm ones, which are very fiddly, poor quality, and difficult verging on dangerous to fit. I can tell you where to get the quality hubcentric ones at a sensible price.

The standard tyres on these wheels are 235/40 on 8J rims, you could probably go a little wider.
I believe the "stock" tyres on the B6 wheels are Conti Sports, which were on when I bought mine.
Eagle F1's would be just as good, but there's other threads on that subject.

If you need any more help, just PM me - I have been through this hoop and would not want you to have to reinvent the wheel! Sorry, but couldnt resist the poor pun and mixed metaphores!!
