Nav update....

Post by vestax32 » Fri Apr 15, 2016 10:48 am

In my c6 I bought an aftermarket disc to update nav, which worked perfectly. Is it the same for c7, if not what needs to be done? It's a 13 plate car.....

If you have Audi connect you can download new maps on myAudi.com onto an SD card and then insert this into the SD card reader in your car :thumb:

I thought you could update via Sd card anyway? Can't you download from myaudi even without connect? I seem to recall there was a slight difference in the update technique or perhaps there was only 1 way of doing it without connect and 2 ways with?

I just logged on to my myaudi account and it gave me the option of downloading the latest map and updating via SD card. I assume this is the same for pre and post facelift cars and not connected to Connect? Just need a myaudi account which you can create for a car without connect, my old RS4 shows up in there too (but can't really do anything with it).

Ok - I'm at the bored reading the brochure small print....

This maybe useful for you all tho.

Online Map updates
The map version delivered can be updated with the first
5 updates which are issued at intervals of 6 months. The current navigation data can be downloaded from the myAudi Platform at audi.com/myaudi and installed in the vehicle via SD card. In conjunction with Audi Connect, the update can be carried out online in the vehicle. In addition, it is possible to have the new navigation data installed by an Audi Centre at extra cost.

It is always important to separate the application from the maps. In general you can update the main Navigation application through standard dealer updates. The maps will usually be chargable unless they are built into a service package. Once this runs out you have more of an issue. Some systems will be locked to a serial number and so you cannot use another persons SD Card which is a pain.

Can't seem to access the maps on my audi site. But then I don't have the Audi connect in my C7?

Had a good look today, but can't see how I can download anything for my car?

Even set up a Audi connect user management account, but against my car (2014) c7 rs6 there is no "display available services" as per the online guide, neither are there any widgets available?

Think you need to have Audi connect fitted to the vehicle?

It doesn't say you do in the manual. I'll take a look tonight and see if there is another way in. I have connect so hard to tell really.
