Not just value come re-sale, number of enquiries too.

Sold my two B7 RS4's this year, the one with FASH I could have sold 4 times over. The one with part indi/audi history took longer with less interest and got a far cheaper price. Multiple thousands cheaper!

See, I do get that, and especially in the case of your big volume cars e.g. 2.0 tdi's. However, I'd much prefer a car like this serviced away from a main dealer at a reputable independent. That shows me that the person who previously owned the car was probably an enthusiast.

I could be (probably am) misguided on this one! Haha

I'll remember that the next time I buy 2nd hand!

As I say, I value the indi higher than the main dealer, but I guess if the majority still value the dealer stamps, it will devalue the asset.

Also they can be a bit funny if you need any warranty work if you don't have main dealer stamps

If you need good will from AUK it's a must.

No, they can't...

Warranty is not impacted as long as genuine manufacturer parts are used by a qualified person. if you let them, then they might try, but there is no requirement to have your car serviced at a main dealer, it think it goes against monopolisation of the market (or something to that effect).

As above it's about good will cases. If you've a service history with an Audi franchise then this works in your favour. You might get a contribution or an outright fix where otherwise you'd be coughing up.

Yes that's the theory but as stated the good will could be an issue and warranty work could be dragged out if at all

You make a good point there...

I probably dont think of that as I don't keep cars that long, but i see the argument that anyone picking one up 2nd hand, could value the MSH due to issues that fall out with warranty e.g. the dreaded DRC issues off of the B7.
