Have you seen this one, you could retrofit Bucket seats if that was a deal breaker?

Arh... thats interesting? my boys are aged 6 and 10 but small for their age. That said the Alps run is 900 miles each way. Is it a big difference buckets vs variant?

That one would need to be super mint and 1 owner at that price. I will give them a call tomorrow.

I owned that one and sold it to Lawton Brook 18 months ago when it had 24k miles on it. I was the second owner, the first owner had owned it from new and it was a beautiful example with lots of Audi history. Well worth a look if the colour suits.

My 12 year old is fine in the back with buckets on long trips.

Yes, the leg room aspect is enough of a difference warrant checking out.

The dealers price is about right if it had bucket seats & FASH, so if I was to put a value on it, probably around the £26.5-£27k mark. Cars with that sort of mileage are rare though, you might not see another for 12-18 months and the dealers will charge accordingly.

So, it will have 3 owners now and I would be the forth and 28,490 ...bloody hell !! I think the one I mentioned earlier for 24,999, 1 owner and 48000 is looking good.
Dare I say the C63 with PP looks good value on the Lawton website. I replaced my V10 RS6 with a C63 but didn't miss it when it was gone.

I'm in no rush and might just need to be patient.

You'd be foolish to overlook a good car because of the number of owners. 3 owners in 9 years is not a lot.

^^^ this.

Condition, history and mileage will have more of an impact on price/disirability than the number of Keepers on a V5 which will just live in your filing system.

Indeed you are right in normal circumstances but for 28500 you are not talking normal. That is an exceptional price and as such warrants an exceptional car and history.

Surely this is a better proposition. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... &logcode=p

Neither advert tells me what most people will want to know;
Full service history: the black one claims this the other doesn't, I've seen low milage cars on here that claim full service history and have gone 3 or 4 years without a service just because they are low mileage. I'd rather have a well maintained higher mileage car than a low badly maintained car. I'd want to see the full history detailing when each service was carried out and what the mileage was.
Has the DRC been checked / changed?
Oil cooler?
When were the tyres / discs / pads last changed?

Until I have these details I wouldn't say either car looked better than the other. Although one is chealer than the other; the cheaper one may need new oil cooler, brakes & tyres which would then make it a similar price to the other one.

Yes I agree, but that colour wasn't on your hit list?

Daytona Grey and Sprint Blue cars are the most desirable colours right now and the right calibre of car is fetching premium prices. The B7 RS4 is starting to be touted as future classic and collectable car - i.e. low mileage, low owner, FASH and high spec cars in desirable colours are priced with that in mind now, as generally they're appreciating in value. You're entering the market at a difficult time, as there's a huge disparity in values, cheap cars are cheap and expensive are eye wateringly so.

i.e. - http://www.hollybrooksportscars.com/cars/79540/ is at the top end of the scale, but should one garage this car up for 5 years. Then I'd expect to make at least £6K on it.

The Paul James car you linked to, is only 15 mins from me and I can easily cast my 'experienced eye' over it to give you the low down. The last one of theirs I viewed for a forum member wasn't worth a long drive down for. I keep an open mind and this one maybe different?

All good points guys and Sam thanks for that offer to check out the PJ car I will keep it in mind.

Perhaps most importantly you have reminded me I want a Daytona Grey or Sprint Blue car so should really just be patient. Great to be back on the forum though with such a great bunch of like minded enthusiasts. :thumb:

You may have to be patient or quick on the hoof plus thd number of owners may need to give a little . I was a bit like you and had to move quick . They are about but you have to wait . Mine is low owners / miles and the right spec and in essence bang on but I've been doing fiddly things to make perfect ( yes Sam all the bits you spotted plus a couple )
They will go up in value of you get the right car or at least hold fairly firm

The car was mine originally so happy to answer any questions, but I'm confused by both the Autotrader advert and the Lawton Brook website

The description certainly sounds like mine (especially the memory seats which were a custom factory fit and virtually unique) and the link with Aled backs this up, but the images are of another car - unless someone's retrofitted the armrest, removed the factory privacy glass, added a sunroof and (in the case of the Autotrader link) changed the inlays to aluminum and added heated rears

Basically, both adverts show the same exterior (which is not the car Aled and I owned) and both show a different interior. The Lawton Brooks one may be correct, but some shots look like piano black not carbon so wrong again. Only the description is right, but it's vague at best...

Thought I was never going to get drawn into the debate again, but Recaro's every time for rear legroom!
