Re: Wider body kit for the C5
I've seen pictures of two different C5 RS with pulled arches. One on 20s and another in 10.5 x 18r. They looked weird but acceptable if you're in the "scene".
No matter where you go, there you are.

Looks daft. Keep it as it is. It'll be worth more too when you come to sell it!

Well if you want to increase the tire width you have to move something
It's all in the eye of the beholder I guess

Why do you want to increase the tyre width?Maritimeman wrote:Well if you want to increase the tire width you have to move something

Re: Wider body kit for the C5
Lateral grip... 255 isn't enough for such a heavy thing to cope with tight bends (on mine the back lets go first and as you feed in a bit more power it'll start sliding on all 4 wheels. Pretty fun!). Only a track problem really, most big 6's won't go on track so no problem! Straight line grip seems more than adequate, I don't know how you get on with your crazy power though!bam_bam wrote: Why do you want to increase the tyre width?
I think it looks ok, first time I've seen Rota's on an RS6 though. Rear wiper delete looks cool, bet it's a pain when you can't see out the back window!

Re: Wider body kit for the C5
I used to think that but 275s are more than enough and those don't need mods to fit. I've run 255s on track with the mental manual and I didn't feel at any time I needed more cornering grip. I found the 255s better in mixed weather too, 275s are a little sketchy-er in standing water.
So far I've run:
- 255 19r
- 275 19r
- 255 20r
- 265 20r
- 275 20r
All in anger and all down favourite roads or on track etc.
If I were about to start a tyre thread I'd say the 255 35 20r GY ass 2s were the best all-rounder. The 255 35 19r Mitchy PS2s were the best grip/noise/ride/wear. The 275 35 19r Mitchy PSS were amazing in the dry. The 265 35 20r Toyos were awful.
