Alcantara trim option and other stuff

Pulled the trigger today on a new RS6 today

Currently I have specced the alcantara interior, any thoughts? I can't find any cars across autotrader etc to have a good look at it, but I think I prefer the look of it to the full leather when I spec it online. Does anyone on here have it and can let me know how it wears etc?

Also with the convenience pack it mentions rear manually adjustable blinds, but how do these actually work? All the cars I've seen with the pack don't appear to have any blinds as such installed.

Cos alcantara looks and feels nicer than leather in my opinion. And its rarer. Probably because people are afraid of looking after it especially those with children as you can't just wipe the chocolate off like you csn with leather.

I have it in my car and its the 1st thing people comment about liking in the interior. I love it, so much better than the leather option I think.

+1 for Alcantara. If it had been available in the honeycomb pattern when I ordered I would have spec'd it. I have had it in 7 cars over the years with kids from months old to teenagers and never had a problem looking after it. It just feels nicer to sit in and helps with sliding about. That said the leather in the RS was a surprise to me- very supple and probably thanks to sports seats that are substantially contoured, slipping around has not been the issue I thought it would be. Even after 18months in, there are very few creases, no shiny spots and they clean up a treat

We changed my wife’s Q5 after just 1 year as it came with “leather” rather than the alacantara we had spec’d [we should have rejected it in the beginning but hind sight is a wonderful thing]. That said the “leather” in the Q5 was just the standard stuff, hard and extremely cheap looking. With the Alcantara the leather seems to be to a better standard, well on the Q5 anyway.

I don't get the poverty spec comment. Its the same price.

And the option is full leather or half leather / half Alcantara.

Agreed. I don't see it as poverty it's just another option.

Consider wear and children if have them, it's less compatible than leather. It's also less desirable come re-sale, that may be a factor.

There are two Alcantara options in total. Cross stitched n PE and normal and the honeycomb on the PE model.
I ordered my PE model with the cross stitch option as I don't like the visual of the honeycomb shape, just a personal thing.
Only had it a week so wear comments not pertinent I am afraid.

It looks and feels like a very good quality and I am happy with my poverty spec interior. I also don't think of it as poverty, it would seem Audi don't either if you try and spec the Alcantara roof lining.....ouch. The comment re the sports seats gripping you well making the need for Alcantara is accurate, they do hold you well with shape.

Love an Alcantara headlining. It's one of the few areas where you can actually improve the feel of the interior. Leather dash would've been nice, but not to be.

I have them on my b8. They are rear passenger window individually installed blinds built into the door. Look ok, but i dont use them really as i have the factory tint

Alcantara headlining is a must have for me. I have never gone for it in other areas but might at some point. Leather dash is (whenever possible) another must have option.

This one was of the things I really liked about the cayenne turbo s, it came with leather dash and alcantara headlining as standard and it is something I am considering doing to my 6, along with covering the plastic at the top of the door trims.
