Are these Alastairs plugs?

I did mention this to him a few weeks ago, it's the result of running NF race octane booster, they bugger the plugs and is probably the reason for the misfires he was suffering from.

You should only use the NF race booster occasionally, there's even a warning on the back of the bottle for occasional use only. Alastair had his mapped like that though and was running it every tank. I'll be staying away from ththe stuff if this is the result.

Think he's looking for the 1000 BHP mark! Larger cooler and turbos!

Yeah can't wait to get a run out in his car when he has the Stage 3 setup on it. Stage 2 is bonkers enough.

Looks like he has had a positive outcome with the forge charge cooler upgrade, just waiting on the 9xx turbos and it won't be long

Can someone explain to the spark plug uninitiated what we are looking at here, what the problem is and possible consequences?

Missing tips from plugs on far left and far right would cause cylinder misfires.

Colour on the plugs suggest they are heavily coated and fouling (weaker spark) This to me looks like residue from octane booster use (Something I know the owner uses religiously)

gee that's not good. I ran iridium plugs on my evo with over 1.7bar of boost for 10k miles with not a single issue, on one set of plugs.

I don't see why we want to use octane booster of any description. tune the car properly and leave it alone. tuning on 99ron (and maybe even booster in there as well) then struggling to get 99 so banging in 97 and octane booster is not the way to go. tune on 98 with NO knock. even if you run 97 the ecu will cope easily and filling with 99 you will have a comfort factor re DET.

that car is deffo been detting, wonder how the pistons look?? Very lucky if the tips have not scored the bore but looking at them I guess they were so hot they more or less disintegrated.

getting every last bhp out of a car is not always the smart thing. Running 1 degree less advance you will lose around 10bhp but could well save your engine.

I have never used and never will use any type of booster. I would far rather run less advent and have a safe engine. never had a failure yet and been doing this a very long time.

Scary stuff all the same

PS that statement above got to be the kiss of death for the RS
