Another new RS4 owner

Post by R4llye » Sat Mar 05, 2016 1:21 pm

As some may have seen from my wanted post, I've been looking for an an Avant RS4 for a little while - and after viewing quite a few different ones I finally did the deal last weekend. Today I've just got back from driving it home with a massive smile on my face.

Very pleased to be part of the RS family. :biggrin3:

I think some of you my recognise my new car......

They are fantastic cars.
I'm a recent new owner too, and seems we've gone for the best colour!

Not had much chance of a play yet unfortunately. Just the 45 min drive home and then have had to town for Mothers day shopping with the kid. Having said that, I haven't stopped smiling yet.

Thank again for the time on the phone John! Top man!

Yep, as John says, it was his car before he sold it to D11matt. I saw the car might be available to buy (although not actively up for sale yet) after John nearly bought it back. He opted for his new grey one so I jumped at the chance and contacted Matt.

After a good chat with John about the car and everything he said was confirming Matts version of the history - plus all the paperwork to back it up - had me convinced this was the car for me.

Now I just have to look after it as well as John, Matt and the previous owners have done.

Nice! Got to love a Sprint Blue avant!

My only reccomendation is to get it alarmed as quickly as possible if it hasn't already got one!

Alarm and anti Car jack thing came fitted to the car. I've only forgotten to type the code in every time I get the car.... But I guess its worth it in the long run. Definitely the best colour - even if I am a little bias.

Had to get a Bread van - have to have somewhere to put the Pram.

Congradulations.
Did you pick that car up from Bedfordshire? I'm sure I've seen it around my neck of woods

So a week into my ownership and I couldn't be happier.

First couple of days driving it I was a little careful with it but as the time behind the wheel has grown I'm getting more and more blown away by its ability. Whether it's been dry or wet, the car feels planted and sure footed no matter the road conditions.

A couple of annoying things have happened - I curbed a rear wheel within 2 hours of owning it :bash: not used the extra length compared to the golf, and a particularly sticky-outy curb dropping the missus and kid into town.
A brake light bulb went on my first day into work in it. And the car does like to reminder you of it, constantly, doesn't it?!
And it seems anyone in a slightly modified car thinks I'm fair game for a race. Even with my kid in the back.

But if that's the worst I happened, I can live with that.

Oh yeah, and the performance - the power just seems endless. I've been caught out a few times by how long you can hold it in gear and it keeps on going.

I am a very happy bunny.
