Graeme, I'm not so sure about that. Who thought the RS3 would sound better than the RS6? Maybe Audi have finally realised people will buy a car heavily biased by the noise it makes a la C63? The latest RS sounds amazing from factory (with sports exhaust) and puts my RS6 to shame.
Some of the old 6 cylinder Ferarris sound great.

I'm prepared to stand corrected, but I'm yet to hear a turbocharged v6 that can compete in the aural stakes with a n/a v10 or v8

Boost for power but nothing sounds as good as a high revving v8/v10.

I can't imagine it's coming too soon, as there's been none of the normal disguised mules etc that we normally get inundated with in the year before release (other than the all road arched mule, but that's been circulating for ages)
I've been pestering the guy I know in Audi UK, and he said that he's not heard of anything coming this year, but again, he could be wrong or just not willing to say.
We could all be proven wrong though, but we'll have to wait and see.
