Rear callipers.

Post by Human Joist » Mon Feb 22, 2016 11:12 pm

Evening all. One rear calliper failed today. Stripped it back tonight and the piston is seized solid tried releasing agent and then winding it back etc etc. Totally screwed. My question is for replacement. I have a tps account and a local parts place so will price that tomorrow. Trouble is I want the rs6 decal on the callipers to match the rest. What do people tend to do there. Buy and ebay decal set listed for callipers or go original. I expect the tps to be silly money and the local parts place to be spot on, but I doubt they will come with decals etc.

I had the same problem recently. Had it sent off to http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/ for their express unseize service.

Not as express as I hoped (about a week) but cheap enough for a rear caliper.

ECP do the OEM manufacture for £170ish on an exchange. Just buy the RS6 decals off eBay mate.

Ok. Ended up ordering a trw calliper from my usual place, I understand they did the OE one anyway. With trade discount its down to £82 in black so will order the decals once I measure to see what size I need.

Does it have a clip on platform for the decal or some sh1t? Rule 1. I cant imagine where you're going to slap a decal on the C5 rear cally.

The rears don't have logos. They are just vanilla A6 calipers. Whack some new ones on and forget about them.

I've got a feeling that the RS6 calipers are bigger again, but the point is that they don't have decals, are about as sexy as a blobfish and the less time spent looking at them the better. :)

Yeah just looked again. There are 35mm rs decals that I thought were original. They are Stickers and to be honest don't look too bad. As far as the calliper goes I can get more if anyone needs them and sort the postage out easily enough. Will chuck a picture up when I collect it tomorrow and go from there. No issues to get and post on
