on a serious note, im trying my luck at £14995. the second you put a car like this up for 12k you get every tom dick and harry who have managed to scrounge 9 grand together trying to buy an rs4. I've also sent a guy on his way yesterday trying to take it for £13500. Cars been on eBay for 2 days taken 187 calls on it and had numerous offers and swaps. Time will tell!!!

Sorry it was in jest. Good luck with the sale. Im surprised you let somebody walk at £13500.

I assume he knew it was Cat B and not Cat D or C? I can see you have stated it as "damaged repaired" rather than CAT B in the advert, hence why you are probably getting alot of interest in it

Who were you insured with to cover a cat-B car? Most insurance companies wont touch them.

Might be worth mentioning the insurance issue to prospective buyers so they can get a quote first too :)

no problem, of course I've made everyone aware upon enquiry of the cat b status, I run a sales and marketing business for a living so I knew the advert would get me plenty of bites. its only been on for 2 days and its a 28 day add I might as well try my luck.

Although I've mentioned in the add about raising some money, im not in any major rush I've got a c63 also so the rs has been taking a back seat.

mate it makes me feel sick too,

in my eyes I was the victim of nice car syndrome when I got pulled in my rs6, I used a bus lane to under take two taxis parked in the middle of the high street at 3am in the morning trying to sort a fare out, I got slapped with 6 points cd10 for that by a rookie traffic cop. He had a smile from ear to ear as he did it the <beep>, and then a couple of sp30's. so as you can imagine insurance is a night mare.

That really sucks, that should have been a quiet word at most.
It's total BS how much points affect insurance premiums. I guess statistically they probably are higher risk but they seem to bias points more than NCB. I guess any excuse for more money..
I'm up to 9 points now, 3 from getting pulled by a very fair traffic cop who could have got me banned (~120mph).. I've been a lot more careful since then, but got done by one of the new gantry cameras doing 101 on an empty motorway.. 6 points, 500 quid total... then insurance doubled, £700 - £1400 depite having 4 years ncb and being 28 now. Pisses me off that getting caught doing 101 and endangering no-one costs me £1300 (so far, plus the extra for the next 2 years) and now I'll get banned if i'm caught by a jobs worth doing 33 in a 30. I think you sould only get points if you're being a complete tool and endangering others. I'd be ok about getting a fine, I don't have a lot of money but being caught breaking the law is fair enough... but the points aspect is <beep>.

I agree, 18 years ago I had a brand new BMW E36 M3 I was 32 with 12 points and the insurance was £1200. I didn't think that was bad at all.
I've paid of £7k in fines over the years. I have never been done for any other driving offences. Whilst speeding during all my offences I never hurt a sole. During my 4 court appearances and one ban for 3 weeks I would advise; never give a storey to the cretins they call Magistrates (I have more qualifications in law than they have). Just apologies plead extreme hardship and take it.
I may be 50 but I consider myself as one the last of the gang who does not give two fuck5 about the camera's, unmarked cars, twin rubber strips in the road, helicopters, twats with speed guns and complete wanker5 with signs up saying slow down, don't kill our cats. For fuck5 sake.
