Do you need to get TPS sensors coded to the car

Post by anth8910 » Mon Feb 15, 2016 7:28 pm

Hi All,
I have a second hand set of alloys with winter tyres on and tyre pressure sensors already in. Do I need to get these coded to the car or will they just work?

Can't say I have done it with a C7, but with my B7 that had TPS in both winter and summer wheels, I just had to swap the wheels over and then go into the TPS section of MMI and store new pressures

B7 A4 DTM (gone)
B7 RS4 (Miltek Res Valved, 100 cell cats, Ceramics, Carbon cleaned) gone
C7 RS6 Panther, carbon pack,

No need to get them coded. They are self learning so they will work after install.

But if your winter tyres are a different size and therefore different pressures then you should reset the pressures to the new tyres I'm guessing.

Wheels and tyres are the same size. Found some gloss black RS6 wheels with Dunlop winter sport tyres on a couple of months ago on eBay. Tyres nearly new. Had them smart repaired as they had a couple of curb marks on but they look good as new now.

On a side note, anybody have any idea where to buy 21" alloy wheel storage bags. Doesn't seem to be any that big online???
