In that colour, I'd agree that the black wheels would look better. I have the opposite, in that the car is black but the wheels are the 20's pictured in your post.
Coming out of an a5 black edition I'm loving the comfort levels. The a5 with the stiffened springs and extra low profile tyres was pretty crashy. I'd expect the rs6 to be the same but haven't been in one with 21's and sports suspension to see the difference.

My local dealer is offering alloy reburb at £49 a corner. I'm fairly certain you could get them to coat the tyres as part of the deal.

Yeah that wheel colour does not sit well with Nardo and black optics. I get what you mean about the car needing to be perfect, it's a lot of money to spend on a car that will always feel 'not quite right' unless you powder coat/ replace wheels etc. Buying ( or in this case not) with your head and not your heart is an unusual trait in a petrolhead!

Nardo definitely needs the black wheels!

I agree on the pricing...it's a good spec car and at £70k much more sensibly priced than a lot of the six month old cars the dealers have up for sale. That spec is close to a £90k car.

Wheels are an easy fix. It's not like my car where I could potentially have to strip it and put it back together to the get trim the right colour.
It's all the other bits that you need to be right like the colour, trim and options like sunroof etc which are not so easy / impossible to change later.

If it had the right wheels on it I dare say he'd be asking more for it or would have sold it already so to me that's a good opertunity.

Anyway, the dealer has put the car on AUC, and this is what it looks like. I think the car desperately needs the black wheels I would have specced if it had been me choosing. The 20's look a bit lost.

If the car ticks the boxes in every other department, would be such a shame to lose it for the sake of swapping the wheels. :(

You could sell those wheels for top dollar if there is not a single kerb mark and the tyres have only covered 2k!

If you cannot be arsed with the hassle of swapping the wheels, why not tell the dealer you want the car, but only if they keep the 20s and supply gloss black 21s with the deal? Tyre brand of your choice? They might bite, its not difficult for the dealer to find four 21s (and they can fit your immaculate 20s to another future used RS6 with kerbed 20s and worn tyres)

This is what yours would look like, 2015 facelift with red steels, quattro grille, pan roof, gloss black 21s, black mirrors

(this car has carbon pack including mirrors instead of black optic pack)

As said, wheels are easy peasy and cost to change on wheels will be minimal

There's no way I'd be missing out on a great car/deal due to a set of wheels. As said already, sell the ones off the car and get some others you like! I'd go after market with wheels anyway.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

For my last few cars I have bought them with standard alloys and bought the wheels that I actually wanted on ebay. For example on my F-Type I bought a set of 20" blade alloys for £1850 inc tyres, when I sold the car I put the original 19" back on, I sold the 20" for £1750. As an option they were £2500 but they only cost me £100. I done exactly the same on my wife's Golf R, bought it with 18", bought a set of new OEM wheels and tyres off eBay for £1250, I sold them for £1400. Both cars were sold with brand new original wheels and tyres as they hadn't been used.
If you like that car buy it, keep the 20" for winters or when you resell. Most or all of what you spend on 21" you will recoup when you sell them.

Interesting, with the pics it makes more sense. The silver finish alloy does fail the oooohhhhhh test when the windows and trim are already black. Having said that of all the spec faults to change this has to be the easiest. Keep the 20's as winter (if you really need them given the AWD) and get some darker alternatives. The will really change the design. I would go with the either the black two spoke or black PE5V before considering aftermarket but you never know.

Have you heard the B&O compared to the standard system, its pretty amazing.

Car looks spot on Kev. As others have said you can get the wheels painted sky blue pink with orange spots if you want. At worst £100 a corner & 3-4 days off the road to have them in any colour/design you want.

I think those 20's look more RS authentic than the 21's but that's just my opinion.

As above, with an offer of £1500 off the bat you could get well into some tasty 21' wheels if that's what you really want. You're defiantly more restrained than me as if that was the only issue, the car would be on my drive.
