I'm thinking of selling mine. Give me a shout when you're thinking about it and I'll dig up a spec. Etc.

Re: London - Meribel
Thank you to MRC.
Stuck at work I sent my missus to get the RS6 serviced with them today.
It had a 20K service last year with them and front pads were at 40% left.
I arranged a 10K service this year but let Ben know if anything extra needed doing it would be fine.
My missus just called me to say the service was less than £300 and they asked her about our projected mileage over the coming year and if it would be the same as last year with the same type of driving.Ehen she told them it would be they said
last year we only used 15% of the pads so we could wait until next year to change them.
How many Garages would have acted so honestly with a missus,a credit card and a high perfornance vehicle?
MRC you are absolute gentlemen.Thank you.
Thanks

Nice to hear that, I've had similar from Grizz at Unit 20, and our local garage in the village who look after our daily drivers.Carlson wrote:

No doubt there are many good, honest garages out there, and just a few chancers who get some of the trade a bad reputation.
In fact I also know of an Audi dealer who fired a mechanic for over charging customers, so they aren't all 'stealers' either.
Hope you have great trip to the Alps, I'm tempted to have a run down there myself in Feb.
Re: London - Meribel (Thanks MRC)
I love my C6 but ..... the C5 is a gorgeous looking car
Re: London - Meribel (Thanks MRC)
Yes I have had a similarly good experience with Grizz at Unit 20
who I would not hesitate to use again but with me living in London,
MRC are closer but I would be happy at either garage.
I got the RS6 cleaned yesterday and while stopping for petrol I noticed on my way back to the car after paying how damn good
this car looks. It reawakened my appreciation and I must admit I started questioning if I really
need a C6 especially as the French are now getting a bit angry about speeding Roast Beef on their roads.
I am starting to feel like C5 is turning into a bit of a classic visually as cars lose their individuality aesthetically.

I agree with this - whilst I love a V10 motor, the older V8 ticks all the right boxes for me. Great time, price wise, to get in to them at the moment too.

Assuming you are just heading out then you've timed it just right for the snow. I've just got back from 10 days over there and it was more like summer!
Enjoy

Good journey down.
12 hours door to door with cruise control set to 90mph no police issues this year
and some good fun in places where visibility was good.
Road up to Meribel was grippy and I could properly explore the handling on the switch backs.
The Bilsteins are absolutely superb.
I marvel at the control they give me every time I play on corners.

I'm back.
The car has now completed 5 return trips to the Alps in five years requiring nothing more than routine servicing
after an initial big service/health check at Unit 20 in 2010 inc reseaking intercollers and gearbox service with discs all round and phaeton upgrade.
(Superb work by Grizz).
Since then it has been serviced annually by MRC and has been running a stage 1 map by them since 2012.
We returned from the Alps with the boot space full of luggage with 3 teenagers in the rear seats
with cruise control set to 95mph and drove for 11 hrs straight only stopping for super unleaded.
I bought this car as a one owner (with me being the second) with 60K on it.
It now has 87K
Proves these cars can be reliable if looked after by the right technicians .
I still don't think there is a better tool for crossing Europe with a family and luggage.
