Do insurance companies when supplying a replacement (front or rear) windscreen supply to OEM spec as what would originally have been fitted to the car when manufactured or is it to the nearest possible spec?
Someone told me it's never exact OEM spec but nearest equivalent, anybody know different?

Re: Windscreens supplied by insurance
They will normally give you a windscreen to the right spec but not necessarily an audi windscreen. I requested an OEM screen from Audi when I called them and they said they had to contact my insurance company for authorisation first. Took a day or 2 but they called back and said it had gone through then had to wait a few days for Audi to supply the screen. All I had to do was pay the excess (think it was about £90 with my insurance company and would have had to pay for whichever screen they provided).
