Doug did around 4-5 runs, the car was warm too after doing a hard 150 miles down there.

Myself and Marc did a few runs on the way back with his fresh stage 2 B7 running 428ps, the B7 pulls away faster but the B8 then gets in its stride and coupled with the gearbox it's in front of the B7 and pulling but not by much.

Although an RS5 an not really the topic of this conversation I have had a stage 2 remap, s tronic and a carbon clean. My car rolled into MRC and made 402 on its first run which changed to averaging 422 once warm. After the above changes it came out at 458. I have just had the cats done but kept the standard ones as I like the sound I have managed to achieve with my exhaust. Something to keep in mind for the extra horses with the cats is its an engine out job to replace/remove.

I've just had 2 days in a brand new C7 from my local dealer. I love the car but as Boff has said its very different.

I was ready to buy, the dealer has a white one with carbon pack, black optics etc in the showroom ready to go. The sales manager was off this afternoon so a deal couldn't be finalised. I'm awaiting his call in the morning, in the meantime I jumped in the B8 and took the long way home.

The B8 felt sharper in everyway other than the outright power, I know mine has KW suspension and the Milltek for the noise but I can push it much harder and use all the power more often.

The gearbox is so much faster than the ZF 8 speed too, I'm keeping the B8.

Torque steer and TC in 1st to 3rd. It's seriously quick instantly, and reminded me of the B5 RS4 days. Can only imagine how much more of an animal it would be mapped. Nothing like winding a N/A V8 out to over 8k rpm though.

Still reckon you'll order one.

I've been out and about in my b8 today, it's a really easy car to live with in London.

Ideal driveway is the 6 and the 4. Very different cars IMHO - infact almost totally different.

I agree, quite different cars in the way they deploy power
However, they're both very similar in purpose, so I couldn't see any reason for owning both

For me, they're both everyday type cars, but one is faster in a straight line, much bigger and significantly more expensive than the other

Yeah - that is defo the truth there Graeme, problem is my emotional attachment to the b8 is high, it even came with a private plate that i didn't chose - randomly allocated by the DVLA, and it has my name on it.

And as it was my first mega motor in 5 years - that meant something like someone saying; crack on you deserve that!!

Now I'm into the 6PE I'm finding it hard!! (daft idiot!!!! lol)

Had an RS7 for a 4 day extended test drive last weekend. Just throwing that in the mix ;)

Epic, epic car. Unfortunately on air suspension so agility compromised considerably. But for munching A roads and dual carrageways? Yes please! Even got the (huge) dog in the boot too!
