OSRAM LEDHL101 LEDriving Xenarc Headlight A4 B7

Post by akoblivius » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:38 pm

Hi guys. So today i just get an news from facebook audi rs4 forum and somebody showed me a link to amazon.

Image

http://www.amazon.de/LEDHL101-LEDriving ... c+xenon+b7

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uVRN4ri33Y

This is the newest parts from Osram and today i tried to ask from several poeple,it could be work in the rs4 b7 or not.

Osram prefer to change from a4 b7 halogen to this Led headlights.

The quality i think better then everybody can search on ebay the china fake led headlights. Osram in europe is a very good quality.

Please try to resolve the problem and help we or somebody else,we can install or not. I'm going to call on monday the osram specialist, how it works.

I get some info:

- somebody said me the headlight for an rs4 b7 is different then for an a4 b7.- ( i think the size is the same ) - ?
- one technical guy said me,maybe there could be a small problem with the end of the cables where is the plastic in- out end parts. But anyway a good eletric mechanical guy can it sort very easily and install that because the 12V is the same on output.

So any idea or good words from somebody?

I tried the drl led,but never worked finally good: i can show here in my country how hot was inside the headlight the adaptor for the Led: disaster.
So the best way maybe who have same problem with drl and the orange corners, this KIT.

Very expensive, but for an rs4 which not?

Not for me either, but hopefully someone can answer your questions. If all you get is moe abuse you can try "trups" as he seems to know about these things.

This explains why it will not work
Where it says "the lights are not compatible with Xenon equipped B7 Audi models including some A4 models and all S4 and B7 RS 4 models."

Yet another case of replacements for Halogen headlights only...

Are halogens more power hungry? Hence a way to spin reducing carbon footprints for them to justify the spend?

Marginally - a typical OEM Xenon bulb is 35W compared to a typical OEM halogen bulb of 60/55W.

So you're talking a maximum of 50W difference for both headlights, which since 1bhp is 746W equals 0.06bhp - which is pretty irrelevant IMHO!

The total power taken by 2 halogen headlights on dipped beam is 110W or 0.15bhp, still pretty irrelevant.

If anything Xenon bulbs need more energy to manufacture than halogen bulbs - it takes a lot of energy to extract the trace amount of Xenon from the atmosphere to use it in bulbs as it only occurs in 87 parts per billion so a litre of Xenon cost about 10€ in 1999 (so much more now).

I agree with others here, they look <beep>. Considering they have designed it from the ground up the only thing that's led is the running lights, it's 2015, the whole lamp should be led including the projector and the indicator. And why focus on a B7? They will never make them.

To get the rs4 ones working better it's a few hours work and they will perform like new, I can supply the clear lens, even brand new reflector bowls for the projectors you have to make them fresh again, a new drl system is also coming out in the new few weeks that I have been working on.

And preferably the main beam should be laser assisted, the review in Evo of the laser main beam on the old model R8 was awesome.
