My 6p-worth:
1) Audi dealers don't employ mechanics who understand cars, they employ computer geeks who blindly follow what their diagnostic computer tells them (so if that's confused or the problem is on a system with no diagnostics - like DRC - they don't have a clue what the problem is).
2) Most people on here, me included, have only good stuff to say about MRC, that's not to say they are perfect but they do seem to be amongst the very best.
3) AMD, as has already been said, get very mixed feedback.

So what would I do in your position? Ignore what the Audi dealer says, and get an opinion from MRC (if it was them that did the tune then I suspect they'll be upset they made and error and keen to fix it).

Conclusion to this is
Got my car back from mrc,as i said earlier, doug txtd me to tell my it was a fault with the clutch switch and car was ready to collect prompting me to start this thread and seek other theory's and it seemed a bit of a coincidence that this failed immediately after my remap( of course quite possible)
audi tyneside ( i know dealers aren't well respected) told me they thought it was an issue with the info put on the car which related to the cold start, this has since been repeated by a mechanic who preps the cars for paul bird motor sport british rally team( there based 20 miles from me)
So i called mrc to say a haulier was coming to collect my car to bring it back to the north east when ben informed me there had infact been an issue with the map and it needed reflashing so naturally i brought up the costs incurred to me as a result(£550).
Doug called me back the following day to say ben had been mistaken, map was fine and there was a mix up with the job sheets, ben had been reading from the wrong one. he repeated the issue was with the faulty clutch switch, he kindly fixed it for free.

This ^^^^^^^^^ just doesn't make sense when reading back through your posts.

Also, are you saying that MRC did a good job on your car? I'm not linked with them in any way, just nice for decent tuners to get praise when they deserve it.
