Gallery Problem Deleting Pics

Has anybody had issues deleting pictures from their gallery? when I try, I get the message:-

Directory 'modules/coppermine/albums/' is not writable, pictures can't be deleted

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you need to delete Nick?
i can sort it if you tell me what you need doing
