How long between build week and delivery?
How long between build week and delivery?
What is the rough time between the build week and actually taking delivery? I appreciate this can vary quite a bit.
It is currently showing as in the panel Shop with the build week set for next week. Is there much chance of getting it before xmas?

Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Also, when using the build tracker on Audi's website, how accurate is the spec bit at the bottom? I'm guessing this is just a rough guide and bears little resemblance to the final car as there are numerous errors showing?
Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Work on 8 weeks. But can be several months, I waited three months.
Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Ok thanks doodlebug. Looking unlikely to see it before Xmas then.
Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Also depends on how mad you've gone on the extras.
What have you gone for?

Not me, it's the missus with her RS3.
It was just over £7k worth of options; off the top of my head it was the usual stuff like wider wheels, mag ride, sports exhaust, reverse camera, sat nav (smaller one), B&O, mirrors etc

Re: How long between build week and delivery?
3-5 weeks to the UK depending on where the car is being built... Ie Q3 is 5 week as built in Spain.
Options can delay the car, exclusive paint can take an extra 6 weeks.
I know RS3 is in high demand and Audi has stopped building demo and showroom cars to concentrate on customer orders.
Hope this is of some use.

Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Yes thank you. You're not wrong about high demand. She ordered at the beginning of July and after 2 months got a build week during April next year, then recently was told of a cancellation bringing the build forward to November.
Re: How long between build week and delivery?
our new motor arrives in port on monday a month early and should have it by the weekend the dealer said
we were told 8 weeks from ordering and only took 1 day to get a build date
not sure if its model or dealer that changes the length of delivery

Re: How long between build week and delivery?
Dealers are given allocation on each model and they can choose to an extent how many of each model they have; ie if they are particularly strong on a certain model they will have more of their allocation. Furthermore they also order cars for stock which become showroom cars, demonstrators etc.
When you order a car the dealer will either try to amend an allocated build slot (one that is meant for stock, demo etc) if the brand allows it (usually ~6 weeks before the car is due to be built) or in the case of RS3 where all build slots are taken it will be a factory order where by it will go in to a queue and built as soon as Audi can. As previously alluded with RS3 Audi has actually stopped production of stock, showroom and demo cars to focus on customer orders.
