B8 to R8 spyder...should I?

Post by N13LXC » Sat Nov 07, 2015 6:52 pm

Whats the thoughts on swapping the RS4 for an R8?

Getting a merc estate as a company car so thinking R8 may be more appropriate as a weekend car...thoughts/ideas welcome!

B8 to R8 spyder...should I?

Spyder is gay.

V10 coupe manual or S-Tronic.

Would the budget also something more exotic? Pork/Fezza/Mac?

Ask yourself whether you'll use it. Do you/will you drive one or two up? No point having a car that's wheeled out once every three months.

Pork is not exotic no matter how much you try.

Go Coupe V10 manual, you will love it

All Porks are for yuppies or herd followers not serious car enthusiasts.

I'm not disagreeing with those.

But a 997 Turbo/S is not.

Fixed

A 997 Turbo S would be exotic to me thanks very much. I guess it's not an R8 or a Jag HYFR so I must be wrong :beerchug: Horses for courses and all that.

You are entitled to your opinion of course as am i, but for me an exotic must turn heads and put your hair on end....apart from being brutally fast, I'm not sure a 997 Turbo S does that...but that's just me.

I did consider a 997 Turbo before buying the F, so not knocking it, but just wouldn't consider it 'exotic' but its all opinion.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Budget will be around 80k, hoping the new R8 opens up supply a bit...

Only others I'd look at would be; DB9, vantage, gallardo ftype coupe.

Not once had the desire to own a porker...however, might take a look. Plenty of options going just now.

nice budget....that should give you access to all you've mentioned. I wouldn't spend £80k on an Audi though. Personally wouldn't want £80k sat on the drive in the form of a 2nd car. You obviously don't need practicality - Lotus Exige V6 S? - maybe not "exotic" but would be a blast on both the road/track. 0% finance deals too so keep the money elsewhere working for you.
