Best place for RS servicing in South Oxfordshire

Post by BillTheButcher » Wed Nov 04, 2015 10:33 am

What garages would people recommend for RS servicing and maintenance in South Oxfordshire?

I've been advised not to use the official Audi dealers in Oxford or Reading.

I've used MRC in the past - and I was very happy with the service - but I've moved quite a bit further south since then. I wondered if there was anywhere just as good but closer to home.

Cheers.

I use APS at Brackley who have been superb.

You'll find I now get a torrent of abuse and told that unless you use MRC for everything you must be mad, as I was told when I used a very good outfit elsewhere.

There's a huge MRC bias on this forum.. I have no doubt they are good but they're not the only game in town.

Anyway, if there is a good South Oxfordshire outfit I shall try them but like you I avoid the stealers and have found APS to be really good.

Hope that helps

Thanks. :)

I'm not an MRC fanboy. As I said, I've used them before but I'm quite to use another independent.

APS are about the same distance away from me as MRC.

MDM Technik near Henley have also been recommended. :)

I'd definitely use MRC for mapping but anything else (unless it's convenient to have MRC do it) I don't find them any better or worse than many of the other indies I've used (had good/bad days at all of them) but you're right to avoid Oxford Audi.

When I had my C5 I had serious issues with all 3 departments (sales/service/parts) before and after their move, all of which required a manager to avoid the situation escalating and it put me off them for life (other opinions may vary :D)

Your experience bears out what I've been told about Oxford Audi. I've also heard similar stories about Reading Audi, and I have personal experience of their appalling customer service from when I enquired about a B7 RS4 they had for sale some time ago.

I didn't mention but when I took my B7 cabriolet RS4 with 39K to Oxford Audi they didn't want to service it. I didn't need another telling to leave asap and head to APS whom I still use. I shall research MDM in Henley though.. Thanks

What about Swindon Audi? Anyone tried there? My S is on a service package that was levered into the deal so it'll be going to a main dealer until that option runs out....

Found that with them when I go for a wonder round there they tend to look down at you, the cars are particularly boring nothing exciting they all seem to be TDI's

Booked in for a service at MDM Technik later this week. £379 inc. VAT including spark plugs. (£249 inc. VAT without the plugs.) Seems very reasonable.

I'll let you know how it goes.

The work was carried out on budget and on time; and I was loaned an A6 while my car was off the road. Mark (the director) was communicative, responsive and helpful throughout.

Total cost: £379 including VAT, which included new spark plugs.

I'm very happy indeed with the service. I'd definitely recommend them and I'll be using them again.
