Which front pads?

Post by S4WON » Wed Oct 28, 2015 12:04 am

First service today and it included an advisory on front pads, "70% worn" or something.

Stealers want 480 quid for the pleasure to supply and fit, i have zero intention of paying that, what options / part numbers do I need for pads? Ill then get a local specialist to fit. Im not a track guy or anything, just standard spirited driving pretty much.

Thanks all

Mine is in today for front pads, reluctantly at Reading. £436. Necessary evil. I rely on my brakes quite a bit :). I did have a look around at others but thought OEM was the way forward. I've tread Yellow Stuff are good.

S4 2 pads per caliper RS 4 pads per caliper. Yellowstuff ok but chewed through them in less than 2000 driving only fast road.

Oem are possibly Pagid. Careful though, you can buy nasty Pagid pads that will kill you. Heard great things about ds2500's.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Funny you should ask yes! Yellowstuff were a good blend of road and track but at 2000 miles for a set wasn't happy so currently using Hawk HP+ so far quite impressed. Ds2500 great pads but found them noisy as fook for everyday driving!
