Buckets stolen South London (2nd time)

Post by kd » Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:27 am

Well second time for me now. After having a set put in a couple days back!!

2 questions if anyone may know.

Firstly there was no windows smashed this time. Slight scratch on driver door near lock and the sunroof cover is off but that's it. Thought they would have to break a window to get in.

Secondly when my car was written off when the first seats got stolen any ideas what would happen now? I'm with the same insurance company. I assume they would allow a claim to a certain amount of how much I bought the car back off them?

Just before I call the insurance company and tell them

Thanks

KD

Car written off, you buy it back and reinsure it? Hmmm. Would love to know how that turns out..

How much did your premium go up by the first time?
And honestly, id try something else, someone clearly has a bead on your motors

My no claims was protected so didn't get a hike even though it went up by a few hundred as their "yearly adjustment"

Car is going to be inspected by insurance company. I will have it sent to Audi rather than their approved bodyshop I think. May help a bit as Audi know history of the rs4 seats being stolen. So will see where that leads. I can't see admiral being that welcoming.

The police came by and said it looks like there are some fingerprints on the door so forensics will be over today.

Fook sake :( would be nice to catch them in the act and beat them to within an inch of their life.

I hope the fingerprints match up with someone.

Yes absolutely nuts! I am looking at other seats, just wondering if other Audi seats would fit (like from the S5 or B8 etc) has anyone tried another seat? Need to start looking at options of sourcing comfort seats or a replacement from another model that would be more readily available depending on what the insurance company say. Razor wire under the seats would be a good deterrent!

Really unlucky mate, I would be swapping to comfort seats for sure if I lived down your way. I have run both types and the comforts are good seats. My wife actually preferred them. I sold my ones for £350.

I've heard that the standard Audi alarm is crap but is your car parked that out of the way that no one would of heard it??.

The car was off a main busy road but lots of houses nearby (they are mainly houses converted into 3-4 flats) so I think even if someone heard it there are so many flats that I dont think people pay much attention to them and like mentioned I have heard my alarm before and my nephews toys are louder than that :-) I thought the seat stealing had calmed down a bit but both the police and the flatbed driver said they are still getting a lot of reports of these being taken. Flatbed guy said these RS4 and E92 M3 full interior seems to be the common ones they are going to
