Just got a NIP - 97 on the M11

I'm either very lucky, or unlucky, but I prefer top be positive

Got caught speeding on the M11 on Sat by a laser gun. I saw the policeman but obviously by the time I reacted I had already been caught. Got the NIP through the post today.

From what I've read, 1mph less and it could have been a Fixed Penalty, but 3mph faster and I could be looking at a ban. Looks like it'll be 6 points and a large fine.

I can't complain, I was speeding and I got caught, but that 95-100mph banding is rather tight!

I believe 96 is magistrates anyway and yes, i got 6pts and 600 fine when I was done that that speed (hook on the a3)

That was in 2004 mind.. Fines maybe gone up since then

You're right - the threshold is actually 95mph for FPN. Still pretty close though, but then again I could have been caught doing 100mph

I've read that fines are pretty big but I was speeding so gotta face the consequences. I'm not one to shy away from responsibilities - I knew what I was doing and I got caught!

I got done recently for 101 on the M25, 6 points and ~£500. I hope the judge goes easy on you.

My old man asked me what I'd learnt from this... my reply was "don't get caught" lol. I'm up to 9 points now though so I really do have to be careful Bloody camera van nearly got me for <10mph over the other day, luckily i hit the brakes hard before he got my number plate in the shot.

Well I got the letter from Essex Police...

Rather than getting a court summons as expected due to the speed, I just got an FPN this week.

I've never been happier to get 3 points and £100 fine!

You'll be taken to court in front of a bunch of wankers. Don't bother giving a story just say you're sorry as they don't give a toss about the circumstances. Take the 6 points and £400 to £500 fine. Go down the pub and have beer.
