Living with Nardo

I don't sense there are many posters here with nardo C7 RS6s, but just in case - how does the colour work for you as a daily proposition? Any regrets?

It's a colour not a lifestyle change. Only had good comments, days of 'it looks like primer' seem to have gone.

You mean there's actually more to life than cars??

It's the first car I've received compliments from non-car people cause how much the love the color. A Porsche driver stopped next me the other day to ask what the name of the colour was and how much he liked it. I've heard its the default colour Porsche puts on their race cars?

Too many words, not enough pictures.

I guess I must be the only one who hasn't moved on from the "it looks like primer" days...

I pondered for months over the colour and ended up initially ordering Nardo without ever seeing it other than through pictures. 48hrs after placing my order, I spotted a Nardo RS3 and that was enough to get me to amend my order to the much safer Sepang, the Nardo just looked very flat. I think it's a 2015 fashion statement that only some people get, the adverse effect would be desirability when it comes to selling up. It's the only non cost paint colour option on the RS3 so suspect it will become very common on that car.

6 months on, no regrets on cancelling the Nardo, it really does look like battleship grey missing its top coat. The wow factor difference between the Nardo and Sepang is night and day

But each to their own, horses, courses and all that. Nardo at the moment is not a common colour, Sepang is a common Audi colour option so it's good to be different I suppose.

I agree sepang looks stunning in the picture above but it rarely looks like that in the flesh unfortunately.
And I'm not sure it will be that popular on the RS3, last time I read the order thread on their forum it was very much split between those who think its great and those that still say primer.

Saw a Nardo RS3 today, looked ok. Wasn't that impressed really. Being different makes the world go round so I hear. Some think Misano looks toss, well, they're just dumb :redrs4:
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Nardo rs3 with alu trim looks wrong. Some for the C7. It has to have black trim and black mirrors (or carbon).

Need to get those mirror caps painted black gloss though.

Took it to Rob at Supercar Detailing for clean up and he did his usual excellent job.

Having seen the b8 and c7 at the box hill meet,I have to say nardo looks so much better on the b8
Same as RIV blue that's too much on a c7, IMO that is, I think it's too big to carry it off.
