I know Ross does the weekends but can it be done in 1 day?
Can't be done in a day not a chance.

I've driven there and back to collect a car on a trailer in one day - 22 hour journey, 2 hours rest on ferry each way the rest driving except 30 minutes to load car whilst there. 18 hours of driving in a day.

Almost killed me. Wouldn't do it again lol.

Could do it if you were dared to or something as a challenge (5am channel tunnel over, there for say 1pm, do a lap or two, 9pm tunnel home but unless you live in Folkestone or Dover that would still suck) - for you trups it's 2.5 hours to Dover so there's another 5 hours lol.

I really want to loose my ring cherry so just trying to get my head around it all.

Thanks for the info Ross, may join onto a 246 trip next year.

What's average costs, I.e ferry, hotels, price per laps for your last trip if you don't mine me asking?

Has anyone done one of them ring taxi things in a bmw? I saw AMG do some too.

have to give massive props to Si in his RS6, i couldnt match him in the dry but luckily made it up in the wet where it was the other way round :)
Cheers mate, was an incredible trip! I'm looking forward to April already! I'll get all the vids uploaded tomorrow, there's one up already of a 9:09 with a 20-30 sec hold up at the end... it doesn't look that fast watching it back though, not sure if it's the camera angle or because i was focusing on going forwards rather than sideways this time lol.

toyneg's a wet weather wizard, I have no idea how he pulled away from me like that in the wet, I was bricking it the whole time after a big lack of traction coming into a hairpin!

trups: you deffo need to do it mate, I can't think much atm, need sleep, but it's roughly a full tank either way to do the european side, plus whatever you use when you're there and what you need on the uk side. It's always the biggest cost for me but for a more economic car it wouldn't be too bad. Eurotunnel was £89 each way, but my other mate went on the ferry and it was roughly half the price. Then it's just hotels, food etc, euro breakdown cover is £40. Each lap is 29 euros. Would deffo be cool to have you along on the next one!

Cool, no worries. :)

Re track insurance, If you can find it cheap enough then maybe, we didn't bother. If you crash you're in a heap of financial pain, more or less instant bankruptcy if you damage a lot of armco and get the track closed. If you spill oil you can also be held liable if anyone crashes due to it. Gotta be careful.

Can't get insurance. It's not a closed track day.

It can be done in a day.

Done it twice

Once on my own in an RS 3 and once with a crazy Australian in a TTRS.

Gutted I couldn't make this!

Re: the video, your eye has a field of view of around 60 degrees "in focus" while most action cams use a very wide angle lens around 170+ degrees "in focus" which has the visual effect of slowing everything down i.e. my 160+mph at Brunters looked like 70mph! :D

I'm heading to China next month and also in the middle of moving house so anything this year is a write off or would of joined in as I'm currently running around in a mapped 335d which I want to get rid of to make way for another RS before the year is out.

Thanks for the offer

Another C6, my 1st sat around for weeks on end as I worked away from home but now I work from home so want to get back in one and use as a daily due to doing no miles.

I have done a deal on one from a forum member, he is in no rush to sell it so is giving me time to save the last amount of cash I need to purchase it. Can't wait. Won't track that I don't think, I have another pocket rocket that will shock a few that I own.
