I have 10mm spacers and standard DRC. I haven't experienced any issues although I'd like to try 5mm spacers on the front to see if that affects the turn in.......but only out of interest rather than necessity.

I didn't!! c5 b7 b8My c6, b8 and c7 have all been fine, so I don't think it's fair to say it's all cock.

Furry muff. Though I'm shocked when people are surprised that Audi don't give a toss. That'll be because Audi don't give a toss full stop!RIV wrote:I didn't!! c5 b7 b8My c6, b8 and c7 have all been fine, so I don't think it's fair to say it's all cock.

With respect you've said enough to indicate it does (obviously) change the way they handle, the higher the speed the more things are exaggerated.carsarecool wrote:I have 10mm spacers and standard DRC. Having to continue to return steer the car when changing lanes at speed ain't cricket and it definitely doesn't do that without the spacers on.
One thing I don't need help with on this is if it's happening, they have been on and off more times than a whores knickers go up and down.
With the spacers on the car is Fcuked up, off and it's back to being a dream !

We would love to get involved in resolving your handling issues as something is not stacking up here...
Love a challenge and I have the same spring kit and 10mm spacers on my OZ's with no issues at all.
Please feel free to PM little Glen with your telephone number and we can book it in up at our HQ in sunny Newcastle or give some free advice over the phone.
Either way, we would be happy to help.
Regards
big Glenn

I have had the H&R 10mm spacers on most of this year and have notice no change to handling of the car

Re: RS4 B8 with KW coilovers and 10mm spacer issues!
You might have misunderstood what I said (I assume, as you've quoted me). I am only interested to see if 5mm make a difference as I've had the 10mm spacers on for 12k miles of the 15k miles the car has now done. I can't fault the handling of the car with the spacers on other than the Dynamic Steering is too slow at low speeds and I can't believe taking them off will make it much better. Quite happy otherwise.Daytona Greg wrote:With respect you've said enough to indicate it does (obviously) change the way they handle, the higher the speed the more things are exaggerated.carsarecool wrote:I have 10mm spacers and standard DRC. It seems simple to me - you mess with the std setup at your peril however it is weird the spacers make so much difference.

Sorry, I'm still getting accustomed to this forum.
I also wanted to try 5mm spacers to see if it would half the way 10mm spacers affect the handling.
I've done 18k in 9 months with no spacers fitted.
Appx 2.5k with 10mm spacers fitted.
Appx 2.5k with the spacers on, off, on and finally OFF!
I would like to resolve the handling issue sensation I have but I'm fast beginning to think "that's spacers for you".
I've had MRC quote that and several others.
I again popped into Audi Saturday, the master tech I wanted to see wasn't in but another tech was, he's actually got his own Audi A4 Avant diesel with spacers on, he first words when i explained the drift feel etc etc was yes mine is worse, and he also went on to explain that he has vibration issues due to his not being hubcentric.
What he is going to check this week is if there are any reports on the wheel and ABS sensors having problems.
I've done another good night run and I'm happy to say it's better without the spacers.

I would speak to this company regarding the set up of your car
From what I've Been told you use the same spacer sizes front and back, don't go 5 front 10 rear as it puts the handling out

Thanks for your input
I would not use different sizes back and front, I wanted to try 5mm all round.
Cheers

Greg I believe it may have been me you was taking to was it the sepang blue on the rs stand? We Own the merlin purple sq5 aswel?
Handling is a lot better now I have normal upper control arms with the camber as close to factory as possible with the 10 mm spacers it is still out but turns in superb and there is no rubbing on the rears now with the 5mm spacers,
Another issues is the Pirelli tyres they cause so much tramlining it's unreal am on pilot sport 2 now the grip is a whole lot better in wet back end hardly ever comes out anymore on wet round abouts when booting it!
