Uprgraded/reduced dust brake pads

Does anyone have any suggestions for either/or upgraded brake pads for the B8.5 RS4 and maybe ones that reduced dust creation?

The upgrade is not as important as the dust free part as my wheels get dirty really quickly.

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas or recommendations?

EBC Red Stuff are supposed to be good for this - reduced dust

Thanks, looked at those, EBC dont make them for the B8 RS4, B6 & 7 only.

They do yellow stuff for the b8
I think I would go for DS2500's though

Are the B7 and B8 brake calipers not identical? The discs are different but assuming they have the same thickness then the B7 Red stuff pads should fit.

Might well be true, I was always told the red stuff wear the disks quicker though ?

b7 and b8 pads are identical. Same as gallardo, R8, early RS6, etc.

Calipers are also identical, although the carrier is different to allow the different offset.

I use AutoGlym Aquawax/Express Wax on the wheels (or on the car when I don't have time for a full on wax session). It helps but the only solution is to wash regularly, I wash the wheels twice as much the car.

£30-ish on eBay for 5ltr vs. 500ml for £14.99 from'alfords.

I also have the pet hate of brake dust, and the RS4 does seem to create a lot.
My current car has Ceramic brakes, which remove the dust issue all together. However, only for the front wheels, so the back wheels just look dirty in comparison to the fronts all the time

I had EBC yellow pads fitted just over a week ago.
800 miles later.
I've never seen brake dust like it, I've cleaned them off twice and the wheels look grey dipped.
EBC have offered to change the pads if I find the compound in them no good!
I can see why now!
However the harder compounds will kill the discs sooner, currently mine have 22mm left, min 20mm, so the discs will need changing next time, which may be soon! Looked at JP drilled discs, apparently they are more actual "floating" discs which should help the heat/fade issue with stock wavey discs. With paigent pads (may have spelt that wrong !).
Any thoughts on that ?

Mine are currently still squeaking at slow and crawl speed braking, particularly when coming to a stop!
After appx 100 miles at motorway speed braking I'm not so sure, they don't seem to good when they are heated up.
Early days ? I wouldn't have them again, I can't see them improving, I will be changing ASAP !

Sounds like these aren't bedded in properly.

I've run yellow stuff in my current and last rs4's and found them excellent (dust aside). They shouldn't ever squeak - mine certainly never have. Brake dust is very high and that sucks, which is why I swap back to standard pads for normal street / daily driving.

Standard discs (and fluid) with yellow stuff pads didn't fade on my b8 rs4 with 3 back to back laps of the 'ring (wet, circa 12 minute laps). They also didn't fade with RBF600 fluid and yellow stuff pads on 3 back to back laps of the 'ring (dry, circa 08:30 minute laps) in the b7, or 10+ laps back to back at Cadwell/Castle Combe. On my last trip in the b8, they were smoking badly - had I been stopped in traffic they probably would have caught fire and that's not exaggerating. But still no fade. And I did the 1000+ mile road trip there and back on them with no complaints.

Other than weight saving, I really can't see the justification of swapping discs from OEM. The standard discs are excellent and more than capable of anything I'm throwing at them - if you're driving harder than me then fair play you need a combination of discs and pads that are better - but then expect increased dust and poor 'from cold' performance as that's the trade-off of those pads. Although I'd still argue you'll never find/need better discs.
