Gents

Looking at a B8. Are buckets another "must have"? Anyone have supers, whats the verdict?

Thanks

LOL

I had super sports in my RS 5 then swapped em for Buckets, then back to Super Sports.

Also had Super Sports in my B8 S4

Really liked em.

Buckets immediately give you that zoned in feeling, more connected to the chassis, but for a daily driver the SS are spot on, good mix between comfort and sport

Come re-sale time I also think or hope that one with buckets would sell quicker 'V' Like for like with sport seats.

Yep, me too Andy. I had them in my B7 and now have supers in my B8 S4. I guess I know I want buckets so just need to weigh up the rest of the spec and how patient I can be, lol

With the B7 RS4 buckets were always preferred because the "comfort" seats were just simple Racaro's the same as the S4 including the full electric but they were never as supportive.

The SS seats are for more supportive in the B8 than what the lesser option was in the b7. I was going to order buckets but for every day and long term use I wanted comfort and the SS give that and support very well.

Its up to the individual really, I prefer SS but I sometimes I wish I ordered buckets.

I disagree (obviously as I have SS :bigblink: ) Buckets will sell quicker if the buyer wants them and vice versa for SS. They are a way better alternative vs the non-buckets in the B7.

Got super sports seats in mine and I love them . I think they are extremely comfy - far better than the comfort seats in the B7. Had a courtesy RS4 with buckets whilst mine was in having work done - hated them. They hold you well once you are in them, but it's getting in them that's my issue. They are great if you like the steel frame sticking up yer arse getting in and out of the car! Less room for rear passengers, look shabbier quicker due to wear on the bolsters and manual adjustment - no contest in my opinion, but that is just what it is - my opinion!

More B8 RS's have been sold with SS seats this time round, last time round the B7 sold with buckets being the 1st choice and much fewer cars with the comfort option.

The B8 seems to be perceived as a classier car and the price tag is higher so thats possible why, they are being sold to older people, i just don't know.

I don't really know why, I prefer SS and that what i ordered, i had money for buckets but chose not to have them, i am not concerned about resale either other wise I'd never buy a car.

Buckets look way better, only trouble is they don't wear as well as the sports seats. It's a matter of personal taste at the end off the day.
