Thanks Ian. I don't often buy photos now having gone so many times, but that one was a cracker and couldn't resist!Ian_C wrote:Wow, superb pic
wow didn't we just. I've never driven the ring when it was so slippery. I genuinely love the ring in the wet as you learn so much and the track is so much quieter but it was honestly so bad I had to stop. I'm surprised it wasn't closed more than it was - the surface was in parts like someone had dropped fluids or something - REALLY slippy - and the fog around Adanau Forst was impacting visibility to the point you had to back off because of it.toyneg wrote:awesome pic Ross! heard you had some crappy weather this weekend?
Those september dates look really busy from the owners of two hotels I am friends with out there - I hope you're not too busy on track and you have a good timetoyneg wrote:wow does sound bad, i have been out in drizzle and mist before (my first ever lap actually) haha, i found a damp drying track trickier as you would get confidence on the dry sections and then boom, you're sliding all over the place. i am going with Si in a few weeks and can't wait. will be my 4th time in the RS4, going to go for my best lap if the weather and traffic behave.
So you reckon it will be quicker than your old b7?I learnt a load as usual and didnt crash - so mission accomplished really, but would have liked a few extra hot laps in the dry as I could have gone sub 08:30 (personal best) without much more work for sure.
Yes. Easily.RIV wrote:So you reckon it will be quicker than your old b7?
Might be worth posting this on the b7 forum.RIV wrote:

Yes. Easily.
I could go 08:30 now with a couple of laps more experience with the car and not backing off for some traffic etc. Put it on PSS's and perhaps some even better brake pads and I'd wager 08:00-08:10 is possible with me - sub 08:00 with someone who actually knows what they're doing.
Stock ?There's b7's doing 08:00's so I don't see the controversy lol
yeah i am expecting that, i went same time last Sept and it was ridiculous on the Sunday, literally a half mile queue in each direction off the roundabout entrance to the track and constant closures. luckily the saturday and fri eve were okRossDagley wrote:Those september dates look really busy from the owners of two hotels I am friends with out there - I hope you're not too busy on track and you have a good timetoyneg wrote:wow does sound bad, i have been out in drizzle and mist before (my first ever lap actually) haha, i found a damp drying track trickier as you would get confidence on the dry sections and then boom, you're sliding all over the place. i am going with Si in a few weeks and can't wait. will be my 4th time in the RS4, going to go for my best lap if the weather and traffic behave.
RossDagley wrote:No - esp on (normal). For my first laps / track use I wasn't taking any chances! Might have been that good shout.SuprSi wrote:Hmm, you had the esp turned off i presume? Maybe it was dabbing the brakes on the inside during cornering. Just a thought.
When are you planning on going back?
That's an awesome picRossDagley wrote:
