New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
So took a trip to QST yesterday, could not be happier.....!!
The car needed some new brakes and whilst i was in two minds whether to chop her in for something else, i just couldn't find anything id rather have, (that i could justify buying, sure, id rather have a 675LT...) So, one thing led to another and the midlife facelift has begun....
I went with the KW adjustable springs and 10mm spacers all around. (Tried 15mm spacers on the back while i was there but there was a tiny rub on the off side rear, with driver and one passenger, and as i use the car daily, (and its due some new tyres which will fill the arches a bit more), i decided to go with 10's). Wanted the adjustable springs because i was keen on a very slight, nose down stance, (plus, i was advised against the HR's).
All i can say is, if you have standard suspension, get these fitted.
In comfort mode It has taken away 90% of the front end wallowing, is more comfortable, and, the DRC has stopped knocking!! (not sure if this is a good thing or not warranty wise!). In dynamic its firm, sure, but only marginally more so than std and where its lower it corners even flatter. God help the new set of tyres when there fitted next week.....!
Here's a few, (crap) photos for you, (i know it needs a clean!!).

Re: New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
10mm spacers do change the stance of the car perfectly and along with the KWs it looks good.
Re: New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
Cheers Cars are cool, looks a bit better than when i say you on the A27 Goodwood before last, how you getting on with the Milltek?
Re: New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
Looks great, however check the inner edge of your tyres after 5 k
They will be scrubbing out!!
You need adjustable top arms, some people will say you don't, but it's impossible to set be camber up properly without them.

If been wanting 10mm spacers to give the arches the fuller look.
What type do you go far, how easy are they to fit, where did you get them and how much?

Re: New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
RIV, any recommendations on what adjustable top arms to go for and where's a good place to get them from?
Geoffdrunk, got them from QST. Not sure what they'll charge, I was getting a few bits done at the same time? Give Kim a call at QST, honestly can't fault their service. (Don't forget you will need longer bolts and locker's as well.) they're hub centric so piece of p1ss to fit....

Re: New brakes, (and some suspension tweaks).
I have the 034 Motorsport top arms
However from the sounds of things stern upper control arms are easier to set up

2nd from the bottom looks great, Daytona really shows the cars boxed arches.
Looking good.
