ESP was std for MY2000 IIRC (Sept 99 on.). I don't have it and have not missed it to date.

Ben,

My S3 is a MY00 (V plate) it doesnt have ESP either, I agree with you about not missing it though.

Not all V plates are MY00's. When was yours registered? I only ask as it good to know.

Cheers

Ben

Ok, ESP was not std on MY2000 cars.

Is it a UK car?

Cheers

Yeah Ben, its a UK car.

Just thinking though. If it was registered on 14/01/00 then it may well be a 99 that was sat in the dealers for a while, before being registered. Its got all of the other toys though.(except sat nav and ESP) The 1st owner must have been minted.
Like I said above, I dont miss the ESP. I need to be really pushing it to loose traction, theres so much grip. Unless its icey / snowing. Even in the wet its really good
Oh and I dont need sat nav I've got a map

God knows. Has it got a normal cock on the dash as opposed to a digital readout?

If you mean the clock on the dashboard (eg underneath the rev counter) then its not a tick-tock.
Its digital. I didnt know they made an S3 with a tick-tock clock.
Now youve got me totally confused and we've sort of highjacked this thread.
Ahh bollocks to it, who cares when it was built anyway. Its registered in 2000 that'll do me.
To confuse things even further, its got facelift badges and rear lenses, (because I prefer the look of them and they were cheap to swap.)

oh my god i thought i had asked all my questions....
what is vvt (variable valve timing?) is it that much better than whatever came before (how can i tell)
so they dont all come with ESP surely it would be nice to have (if only for the trips to the alps)
and as for a cock on the dash, well my wife might like it but i think thats an option that i can do without!
