Track day pads

I'm struggling to find EBC/etc pads for the B8. I can't be the first to track a B8 so... what are people using and where are you getting them from?

Isnt the r8 on the same calipers?

If the B7 (or R8) uses the same calipers I'm laughing but I don't know enough about the B8 to, well, know!

Tbh I can't remember, it's not hard to look at pad wear though, I found them very good on the b7

I found the yellow stuff perfect for me on repeated ring trips in the B7 so wanted to stick with them for the B8. And no, the DS pads dont have wear sensors.

If they're the same as the R8 (and more googling shows they probably are) then I should be fine

I had yellow stuff on the b7 they are very good, however i found the ds2500 to be a little better, I know Dk rates them and he's done plenty of track time

I've had both yellowstuff and ds2500's. The yellowstuff did smoke a lot with mild track use, whereas the ferrodo ds2500s seem to handle the temperature much better and bite better from cold imo. I gave them a proper hammering at goodwood recently, repeated hard braking from 140-145mph. The calipers got so hot it was making the pedal go spongy towards the end of the session (fresh motul 660 racing fluid). But despite getting stupidly hot the pads were still working perfectly.

It doesn't matter about lack of wear sensors, just check them visually from time to time. I used the intact wear sensors from my old pads and just zip tied it out the way, that way you're not damaging any wires or connectors on the car.

I had DS2500 on my B8 and they were epic

Managed back to back laps with 4 up including Homer with no brake fade !!

We've got yellow stuff on the shelf which are great and a set of blue stuff endurance pads in stock also which are epic.

I can do you a cracking price on the blues as I ran them in mine under test (not on track as wanted to make sure they worked from cold well) before switching my brakes over to the RS6 set up.
