S4 finally detailed

Post by Geoff A » Wed Jul 22, 2015 9:02 am

After two months and 5,000 miles, the smiles continue to grow. But the bodywork had a few swirls and marks that my son, who is a pro valeter for a family-run Skoda business and a detailer in the making, reckoned he could sort out. He washed, clayed, measured paint and then carried out a three-stage correction process with a d/a to lift the sprint blue paintwork. His handiwork was topped off with a good layer of wax. (He's done a few for family and friends so I wasn't letting him loose without some experience). The finished bodywork is now outstanding - to say I'm chuffed with the results is an understatement, and thought it worth sharing.

Thanks Ross. He borrowed my DAS-6 polisher and used an Auto Finnesse revitalise system, which has three compounds and three pads for paint correction, then applied a top coat of Juicy detailing wax.

It's always hard to make a light(er) coloured car shine real good by their very nature of being less reflective. Really does look to have done a great job :)
