Reverse camera

The quality of image on the reverse camera on my car is shocking. Kind of blurry/artificial. It is not a patch on the crisp image of what the c6 was. Is this a fault on my camera or do others appear the same? Mine is the 2014 model (pre-facelift)

Have you tried giving it a wipe? Mine can go blurry even when the rest of the car may still appear clean but a quick wipe sorts it out.

Yeah i have cleaned it up but is more like low res quality-very blurry

Sounds like a dodgy camera or connection I would get the dealer to check it out. It does get dirty easily but it should be a clear picture.

You must have the HD Ready variant rather than the 4k Version on newer cars

The resolution of the reverse camera is piss poor. Its the same pre and post facelift. Same on fl a8 I rented recently. My wife's F15 X5 has an image quality to behold.

My B8 RS4 is the same. Coming from the C6 RS6 I'm disappointed in the picture quality big time. I can live with it, but it's pretty shoddy tbh.

Depends what you are comparing it to. The image quality on my range rover and previous XF is/was brilliant. On the XF when you reversed the lights were enough to give an excellent picture quality.

The RS6 is just awful in comparison. The resolution is very poor (glad I didn't go for the TV tuner option), and reversing just using the reverse lights is frankly like not having the camera at all.

It's a very poor reverse camera in comparison to other marques in my opinion.

I will get it looked at but it is a poor show when the older version of the rs6 has a better image quality than the new version!

^ this. C6 was hd compared to the sd of the b8. Obviously not, but the resolution difference is that broad.

Kinda weird. I guess they just speccd a <beep> camera on the cheap now.

If it is the camera, won't a C6 camera fit the housing from the C7?

Just to add to this, I have an MY2015 RS4 and the picture qulaity of the reverse camera is stunning. The wifes 2010 X5 is pretty good but the latest Audi cams beat it hands down.

Are you all talking about bright light images or at night? Dim reverse lights and no ambient lighting will severely reduce the quality of the image.
