Thanks. Bob
Use a hair dryer to heat it up and soften the glue then I used fishing line to go behind it and remove it. White spirit to remove glue residue then wash. Jobs a good un!

They aren't available online yet, email sam@raywell.co.uk.
Raywell design, they also do all the correct gloss rings and badges.

Take off the cover above the radiator. Little clips which you pop down the middle pin to release them. You can then put your hand down the inside of the grille and lever out one of the tabs, pull away the rings a little and use a flathead to push/pop the tabs. It's tricky and I sometimes loose patience so just ended up breaking the chrome rings off by levering off with a screw driver, being careful not to damage the area where the rings sit in. Lever out the broken tabs still stuck in the holes. Insert new rings.

Not the most delicate approach I know but sufficient for me and didn't want to use chrome rings again.

Still torn between black or chrome mirrors. Good advice about the wee groove, thanks. Not sure if I'm so bothered about them that will go to too much trouble to change them. We'll see!
