Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Just fitted new black rings to the grille and black wing mirror covers. The covers look OK and will see how they fare after some use. Will they/do they look tacky? Not under close scrutiny...... See how long I can not notice they're stuck on covers!
What do you guys think?
But I really like the black rings. Will leave the rear ones chrome I think. What do you guys think?
When not walking on water I fly through the air with the greatest of ease.

Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
I agree, either black rings at the back or just remove them altogether.
Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Where are you guys getting your black rings, i think mine should have them, can't bring myself to delete the alluminium door mirrors, its why I bought my 1st S car way back when. Even my plate has black deail on it, no yellow etc.

Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
I always get them from ebay.
Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Me too, still looking good. Just make sure you get the A4 ones. My rear rings are smaller than OEM, but actually make the rear of the car look fatter which looks good!MikeFish wrote:I always get them from ebay.

What are the mirror caps like from the other side, can you see any silver?
Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
You can. They're not very good actually. Don't fit terribly well. I'm looking at maybe getting them wrapped by a friend of a friend. We'll see, as silver isn't too bad but I do like the black look.

Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Hmm, IMO i'd ditch the black mirrors then if they are tacky!
keep oem they look good in silver or buy the black mirror housings from Audi.
Either way you've got a good looking car

Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
Best way is to get them painted, wrapping will not work well as there is a line running across the top of the mirror,it's not easy to get the tape to stick in that profileYou can. Re: Black grille rings and black wing mirror covers
As a DIY numpty, can I ask how easy is it to remove the existing ring badges and reattach the new ones?
Thanks. Bob
