mileage on a used RS4...

Hi !

I´m looking at used RS4´s (on mobile.de website... dunno where else to look), and most of them are 2001 RS4´s with mileage between 50K kms and 80K kms... now, thats a lot of kms.. should I expect problems from a RS4 with this many kms on it ?

50 or 80 kkm is not a lot. No major troubles should occur, just normal items, brakes, wheel bearings, exhaust temp sensors or MAF's. Clutch may be critical -and of course, cambelt service which is at 60 kkm.

I think one of the people here has 150 kmiles, that is more than 200 kkm, and no major items.

Mine has no major problems at 100K km other than the usual items which have needed attention. Look for a car with full service history and good condition to know it has been looked after, that way you should not have any problems.

thats very good... but this reliabilty at such high mileages is only due to the car we´re talking about, right ?
my dad had an A4 (b6), and with 45K kms, problems seemed to arise every month...

Hi Diogo,

Don't know what the average mileage is in Portugal, but in the UK it is approx 12k, so if you are looking at 2001 cars, average mileage should be roughly 4 x 12 x 1.6(for Km) = 76.8km

But as the rest of the guys have pointed out, don't just get lured by a low mileage (The car could have been thrashed repeatedly, over short distances, without being warmed-up/cooled down properly), check the overall condition, service records, etc.
