The drilled hols on my discs are becoming a little clogged. This may be as a result of spending to much time in the car with wife and gamily and having to drive relatively sedately.
Any tips on how to remove?
I've been told anything from get the brakes super hot to try and burn it out to drill it out, any other tips any one can share?
Cheers

Re: Clogged discs
I'm not an RS6 owner however the 4 suffers the same issue. Wheels off and run a drill bit through the holes to clear them. Simples.

Re: Clogged discs
I have just done this on my discs. My car tends not to get driven while I am overseas (4 week rotation) so they can be quite rusted up when I return. I tried a high pressure washer (higher pressure than a standard Karcher) but this did not shift much of the debris. As suggested I ended up taking the wheels off and drilling the holes out. NOTE that the Holes closest and furthest from the centre of the disc are blanks, and do not extend all the way through the outer shell of the vented disc. The holes on either side of the discs are offset so it is not possible to drill the holes on the back side of the disc without removing the caliper (or at least I could see no other easy alternative).
At least It gave me the opportunity to give the inside of the wheels a good clean. I usually do this with the the wheels on the car but it takes hours trying to reach through with tar spot remover on a cloth.
Tips:
Car on flat surface (duh). If you have air suspension you need to set "wheel change" mode on MMI. Chocks fitted at wheels you are not working on. Obviously you can't get to the holes covered by the brake pads so you need to be able to rotate the discs, so I put the Car in neutral to allow me to rotate them and to save going back and forth and dirtying up my interior! Need to switch the handbrake off to do the rears whilst still in neutral ( hence the chocks!) I have read much about using axle stands for safety however I am never confident on exactly where I can place these so I have never used the ones I have. I used the jack that came with the car- again never confident where to place the trolley jack that I have. The manual gives some hints but I'd cry if I damaged anything on the underside- probably better than getting crushed to death though...but I got away with it this time!

Re: Clogged discs
This used to happen on my C6, Air line and blow air through it, but after a drive it builds back up again

Re: Clogged discs
I'd imagine you would need to use air to blow them clear on an every other day basis. I needed to use a drill bit to clean them as the debris would not move freely- they were pretty bad. As I said though my car can sit for 4 weeks or so at a time without being used so maybe a gentler touch than using a drill bit is possible if the car is used more frequently.
