Peak District Meet

Post by MartynC » Fri Mar 18, 2005 6:09 pm

How many folks would be interested in coming to a Peak District meet at (say) The Bull in the Thorn just outside Buxton?

Thinking of a Saturday lunch meeting, they have a good menu, large safe carpark and are surrounded by excellent Derbyshire countryside.

Thinking of around 3 weeks after Easter or there abouts. Any takers?

Aye, I'd be up for some of that.

I can vouch for the venue - and anyone coming from 'this' side of the pennines (west) would have the glorious cat and fiddle journey to contemplate (fun even in a lardy old RS6+!).
By the way Martyn is that the bank holiday weekend? Could we try to avoid it as i'm away and even if i wasnt the cat and fiddle would be no fun as full of bloody tourists!

Martyn,

There's a few of us from TSN who are going to be up in Buxton on the weekend of the 23/24 April. Sunday would be better for us for a lunchtime meet as we were planning on doing Alton Towers on the Saturday :beerchug:
Cheers,

I would certainly avoid the Bank Hol and in view of Daz's comment Sunday 24th lunch sounds good to me.

So who's up for SUNDAY 25th, 1200 at The Bull in the Thorn? Pub has a large safe car park with good food and ale. It is located about 5.5 miles south east of Buxton on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne road.

Hope the Windsor lot have their passports stamped to be this far north!

Cheers, MartynC

Sorry Martyn, we're away that weekend otherwise I'd be up for it - I'd have to go the scenic route though as I'm only about 10 mins away.

Hi Martyn,

Is this meet happening still? Depending on when it is I would like to come across if I may please.

Cheers

Afraid the TSN lot aren't going up to Buxton now so we're not going to be able to make it :(

Any chance of the 24th Phill as that would make 4 of us? If not I can probably do 23rd for lunch.
I am up ther on 24th anyway with a charity event.
