Audi Warranty

Post by derdle » Wed Apr 13, 2005 2:53 pm

There is nothing mentioned about it on the Mondial website. They do mention that their Health and Travel Insurance advisers have had training to FSA standards but no mention on the motor warranties though.

According to their website they do the warranties for 12 manufacturers...it makes you wonder why this hasn't been sorted out beforehand!

Worrying situation, especially if your warrantee has run out and you have been listed to extend it.....but we don't even know the prices yet.....if they are similar as before, fine. But if they decide on a huge increase and you then decline after having warrantee work done...what then ?? Strange!

Thats a very good point,i would imagine they would want you to pay for the repair yourself at the usual 300 quid an hour doh

Hi John,

Still not sorted on the FSA front. I've currently got my RS4 in for a new oil cooler and that is being covered by the warranty. My previous claim (a pair of turbos) was paid by Audi direct to the dealership, but I've got to pay for the oil cooler and then, once the waanty situation has been sorted, me and Audi will have a settling up. Apparently this is the way they are wanting to do things at the moment.

I do hope it gets sorted soon!

In all fairness, the warranties, although branded "Audi", are bought in from (I believe) Mondial - that is where the problem probably lies.

I can honestly say that I have nothing but praise for the way Audi have been handling my claims over the last few months. However, I agree that Audi should be pressing to get this resolved asap.

The problem seems to be the petty nonces at the FSA who have revised the consumer protection rules to prevent mis-selling. I take the view that I don't want this cotton wool meddling by the Government...I want a warranty, I can read the documents telling me what is covered etc and please let me make up my own mind - I don't want the dealer to have to go through pages of form filling and fact finds just o be able to recommend (or not) this warranty. It's f*****g Government red tape gone mad.

Sorry, I'll take my medication now and calm down.

Ahh, that's better.
Rant over.
