This was one of their open day things out of Silvertone I hasten to add - but yes it was about five or six dealers together, and they were mostly / all Jardine from memory. I remember chatting to the guys there and they were dealer cars insured by the dealers I think? So shouldn't make any difference? The only rule I was aware of for driving dealer cars was a very strict age limit. But you and I are past that stage by now haha

I went C6>B8>C7 and I've not looked back. I missed the comfort and space of the C6, but the RS4 was a far more engaging drive. Now I'm in a C7 I've got the best of both as you say.

And, i'm and ex rs4,rs6,911tt, rrs, rb320 etc etc owner.

The rs6 is awesome, the rs4 is better imho, different cars, rs6 is a rich mans barn stormer, rs4 a much more nimble machine

Can't agree, the RS6 is the best of the bunch since B7.

Depends on how you look at it fella, for me, yep the rs6 a technical marvel.

But for me; i think spending £90k on and rs6 is too far, the rs4 ticks all the boxes for me, and the extra 30k, higher risk on depreciation amount, sheer running costs - which includes insurance, etc.

Does the extra 30k give me any more than a bit more room; much bigger bills; and slightly more pace.

Went to Northampton Audi yesterday evening.

Polar opposite experience to Hitchin. Took me seriously, felt valued, and were very helpful.

The test drive, whilst accompanied (was on a used car on trade plates), was around 30 minutes long and involved a great mix of roads. The salesman was keen for me to explore the cars potential and wasn't shy in coming forward so to speak. And it paid off - I'm absolutely in love with the B8's.

I could walk faster than an RS4 but the feel was incredible - the sense of being part of the driving package, not detached from it, was awesome. Point to point I'd wager the RS4 is a quicker car than my RS6. The car I drove had Drive Select, and that made all the difference too I think. Was really nice.

Salesman knew I had commitments up until July but was still keen to be as helpful as possible now - promising to keep me posted on anything that comes through stock between now and then and to initiate contact again in July when I'll be back in the market.

I feel the C6's days are numbered now - the B8 has everything I'm looking for, it really does (except about 300hp more!).

Hitchins loss is Northampton's gain.

Interesting review!

Shows its not all about numbers, it's how you use them. I've always wondered what a 500bhp rs3 is like though.....

I'd like to hack one about. Also if it's much better than an s3.
