Factory tints removal

When I bought my car it came with the factory tints to the rear windows. I find the contrast on the car to be pretty drastic and was wondering if anyone has gone through the process of removing theirs?

You'd have to remove and replace each pane of glass.

Ouch felt that might be the case. Time to start trawling for someone who wants to change their non tinted windows for factory tints then hehe.

Can't you just buy a set of untinted A5 rear windows from a breaker? They are the same size aren't they?

Then sell your tinted ones, maybe even sell them back to the breaker.

Is it front and rears or just rears? Saloon or Avant?

Why not just get the fronts tinted, I've had mine done recently. The law allows for some tint and it really helps with the softer change Front to Rear.

I was advised that as the original glass already has a slight tint to it, even if you add a light tint to it you will go over the legal limit. Not sure how strictly this is enforced though.

It's an RS5, first thing I tried was tinting the front side windows but it's just too big a jump even skirting over the limit. The police round my way have done a couple of the lads as they carry a light meter. One even got points straight away on his Range Rover because he had matched his rears.

Take it to a professional and get them to help you. Mine has a progressive tints from the front and all legal. To get mine done was about £200 all in, so just getting your fronts sorted out isn't going to break the bank.

Already tried and even with tints at nearly 50% there is still too much of a contrast as well as being well over the limit and close to getting points from the police rather than a "get them changed". So had them removed and just when with UV protection. It is still bugging me though so need to do as Mike said and find some breakers rear and back windows. Then tint them all to the same legal level

I have a my2010 s5 with standard non tinted windows. Was thinking of getting them tinted but hate aftermarket tints. Perhaps we could arrange a swap? Any ideas how much it would cost for someone to swap them over? Drop me a pm if you like and we can try sort something out.
