+1 I had exactly the same issue, made painful by the fact I had just replaced all the arms (as a precaution) for standard ones.RIV wrote:

Re: Top arms
Hi, yeah I get it may be slightly harsh once fitted but then the Audi Rs4 is a stiff platform anyway with not much give . I found on my previous cars once these bushes were fitted the turn in a feel of the car was much improved . Obviously there is only 4 sections of the front end you can Polybush on a Rs4 these being top arms , lower arm front + rear and front anti roll bar . so my thoughts are change the top arms and replace with powerflex (wont need changing again) and then move to the lower arms as these are under massive strain also . The front Anti roll bar is fine .
Im not planning on running the car at a lower height either . standard height is fine. Im just trying to eliminate Knocking caused by bush issues

Re: Top arms
Personally I would go for oem arms and not poly bush them, your going to get a harsh ride otherwise, standard arms lasted well up until 55k miles on my old car, doubt your going to cover that mileage before selling on
Re: Top arms
Like you say it's fairly stiff anyway, stiffening more at those particular points wouldn't improve the car IMO. Also many people complain about Powerflex not lasting as intended. If you want better turn in, I would strongly suggest a thicker rear ARB will give you a much better result. If you have a stock, non SS+ car, I would just upgrade the rear to the OEM SS+ bar (22mm vs. 20mm standard). It's c.£120 from the dealer. If you have a SS+ car and still want better turn in, etc I would get the H&R front and rear bars (v2 24mm rear) and do both. It will be slightly harsher overall though (bad roads, potholes, etc). SS+ rear isn't really noticeably harsher in those conditions.Harris. wrote:Hi, yeah I get it may be slightly harsh once fitted but then the Audi Rs4 is a stiff platform anyway with not much give . If you are forking out for new top arms anyway they are about the same price as OEM ones without discount. Fitting will cost you the same. If I'd had known i needed some at the time,it would have cost me barely any difference to the OEM one I had fitted. Now it's gonna cost me £500+
Chances are if one is worn out the rest won't be far behind 56k covered
Re: Top arms
Where ? as in the other thread its a different price ?davers6 wrote:4x meyle arms £150!
Re: Top arms
The OEM ones are on special with eurocarparts too at the moment. Think they are about £60 at the mo.
Re: Top arms
Sorry, they were £58 but now reduced further to £43 each.

Re: Top arms
Mine is having all four top arms replaced next week, whilst having KW lowering springs fitted. Would you bother with adjustable top arms if just fitting lowering springs and not coilovers?
Unit 20 have advised that adjustable top arms aren't necessary with just springs, however I've read contradicting info on this site and others.

Re: Top arms
I only have KW lowering springs and not coilovers but I went through a set of tyres due to completely worn inner edge whereas the rest of the tyrewas ok still.ChrisW wrote:Mine is having all four top arms replaced next week, whilst having KW lowering springs fitted. I'm no expert but I don't understand why you would need them with coilovers and not lowering springs assuming the springs can lower as much as the coilovers.
Re: Top arms
+1 to what Mike has posted with my old RS4 even having the same issue with my current RS5 too

I'd ring Jason at AllGermanParts too to see what he can offer you.andyg72 wrote:Oh bargainMikeFish wrote:Sorry, they were £58 but now reduced further to £43 each.
