Silver 54 plate plus at salvage yard near York. Fair bit of damage. Hope who ever was in it is none the worse. Anyone going to own up?

It's at Simpsons, online auction. You can only buy it if you are registerd with them as a salvage repairer/garageof which they require proof. Finishes first thing tomorrow morning, so you'll have to be quick if you fancy a project! Now if i could just find that goalkeepers burnt out RS6 i could make a good one out of the two!

Hmm, looks to me like they've stripped all the damaged bits off then realised just how much work/money it needs so are attempting to get out of it while they can.

I assume its a cat C/D, so after spending 10k (a guess) at repairing it that doesn't leave much for profit given the prices for good history trade-ins being mentioned recently...

996tt in the background looks well hurt too
I would reckon there is about 8k worth of bits plus jig and painting, leaving a Cat D car standing nearly £40k........... not a wise buy

I'd reckon that the cost of repairing this would be approaching £15k at least - the front end has been crumpled quite badly and it's basically take the whole engine out and probably weld in a lot of new chassis parts. I also think there's a fair chance the engine might be badly damaged in which case the costs would be higher.
All of this explains why the car has been written off by the insurers.

Now that GT2 is tempting. As long as the interior, suspension and engine is okay all that needs (all, he says) is a re-shell plus other body panels and glass. If they'd take an offer on it I reckon that could be a good buy.

Must, resist.......
