Audi Warrenty
Audi Warrenty
Just come off the phone to Audi's warrenty department trying to find out when they will be able to sell their extended warrentys again and another thought crossed my mind which could have implications for outher users on the site.
Given the procedure for placing a warrenty on a car which has had its warenty lapse, is to have the car undergo a multipoint check at a dealer and any faults put right before thay can warenty it , does this mean that someone whoes car is due out of warenty currently and cannot renew due the the problems with the vag's FSA registration will have to undergo the same procedure with the additional cost of the check, even thought its not their fault they could not renew on time !!!
The person i spoke to said that they had asked the question but had not recieved a responce.

RE: Audi Warrenty
Just got off the phone myself to Milton Keynes after spending some time in the dealership this morning, my warrenty runs out at the end of the week, the story is:
If you call 0800 699888, they will register your interest, and treat your car as being under warrenty in the interim provided that:
1) It has been under warrenty continually.
2) The car has a full service history.
If you satisfy all the above, and you have your interest registered, they will wave the arrangement fee, no need for inspection, and more imporantly, they will not revert the year 5 to specified items only... so the only exclusion will be wear and tear.
Lets hope they stick to their word.
FSA approaval is still ongoing, word from Audi UK is that "this is a very lucrative market and they (Audi UK) are not going to sit around too much longer waiting"
Didn't speak to a call centre member of staff, I went as high as I could go....

Audi Warranty
Hi all,
If it's any comfort to anybody, my warranty was due to expire and I registered my "intent to renew" with Audi Customer services.
Three/four days after the expiry of the warranty I needed the turbos replacing! Audi were good to their word and stumped up the cash to pay the dealer to repair the car and provide a hire car while mine was off the road.
Well done Audi.

RE: Audi Warranty
they may well be registering interest to renew audi approved guarantee warranty !but what their not letting on is the fact you will pay £1785.00 inc vat, back dated to the expiry date of the prev warrenty..are the cars that risky to underwrite now???
anyone know what the deal is with lister cov ? was circa £750 for 2 years?

Warranty
Last years warranty was £915 and I was quoted £ 1185 for this year. Will be interesting when they are finally able to renew. I fully appreciate the warranty being backdated to it's expiry date...that is only fair!

RE: Warranty
just got off the phone to listers!! they cannot sell their warrenty at present either ??due to change of underwriter and similar financial services bo+++cks!!
they can off course offer the audi approved guarantee with all their used cars as they are not selling but including within the price !!
either which way the extended warrenty will be going up in price !!
is it now worth self underwriting?? ie risk it?

Up to you matey....in my case I've just had two turbos replaced under warranty and Audi didn't get much change out of £5K. Previous warranty claims have included an ABS pump (on my S4) and I believe that was the thick end of £ 2500 all in.
I wouldn't dream of owning an S4 or RS4 without a warranty at the sort of prices I've been paying.
Risk it? .... I wouldn't!

Re: RE: Audi Warranty
Interesting to know where you are gettin your figures...... under FSA rules, prices cannot be disclosed until you enter into a contractyak293 wrote:they may well be registering interest to renew audi approved guarantee warranty !but what their not letting on is the fact you will pay £1785.00 inc vat, back dated to the expiry date of the prev warrenty.
RE: Re: RE: Audi Warranty
apparently the audi approved guarantee is underwriten by a co called "mondial" or a name similar, and their web site gives the audi dealers the price quoted to me, ie less than 100k, 3000cc and 5 year or older.
hope the info given to me is wrong ? but looks like the sector hasnt performed as the underwriters expected and some have got out, and the remaining players are going to use this period of uncertainty and flux to jack the rates up to cover the £5k claims etc etc. we all pay eventually!!
this is another reason the cars are becoming less desirable/affordable and values falling arround the mid twenties !!!
