On the trim aspect - With Piano Black inlays I've found that if you're not careful when cleaning you can scratch it. The scratches/marring will then show up more than it would on carbon, as it's like a dust magnet. I decided to get a deep pile microfiber buffing cloth and keep it always in the glove box, this is then used only for dusting the inlays and nav display.

To the OCD types, Piano Black might require a little more care and maintenance. Personally I prefer it over the more common Carbon option. As a side note, Audi seems to have reduced the twill size used on Carbon inlays since the B7 RS4. The result is that the inlay loses that nice 3D look which the larger twill provides.

The first one is the new FL version, LED matrix which are now standard. The other is actually my last RS6 as this photo was taken in the summer 2014. The broker ordered the car but never took it but has been continuing to advertise it since last year.

In terms of the new LED matrix lights they are now standard on the car where as the LED's on the pre face lift were an option either on their own or as part of the dynamic pack. I've driven a few times now with the matrix lights and never been flashed so they must be working their stuff.

I like piano black inlays but I like the carbon ones more. You get piano black around the top part of the dash and around the inner centre part of the console (round the start button) regardless of what inlays you spec. My only concern with piano black is it can be a bit of a dust magnet so you do need to keep on top of it.

Thanks all. Where i am right now is looking at used. The PCP numbers were all over the place and i just felt like i was getting gang raped. Depreciation will bad enough.

On the positive first direct are doing bank loans at 3.6% right now, so with that, some savings and my motor it means i can do it, but only sensibly in the used market.

Thanks for all your help fellas. Will be back soon with more positive news hopefully!
